Empathetic & Relatable
Dave Johnston is a professional voiceover artist. He is passionate about providing high quality voiceovers that tell your story, delivered in your preferred format in a clear and engaging way. With his collaborative approach to voiceover, Dave seamlessly blends his wide array of experience and talent to deliver a successful project. He has been coached by LA talent Louise Chamis, Julie Williams (The Voiceover Insider), and recently with the “Voiceover Gurus” Linda Bruno and JJ Wilson. His voice is a finely crafted machine, and his control of tone and pitch result in a clear and intentional delivery. He is a voiceover artist with the instinctive ability to blend in with your intentions in order to bring your message forward.
The magic all started at Disneyland. While others were enchanted by Mickey and Minnie or Sleeping Beauty’s castle, Dave was drawn to the Haunted Mansion. He was not intrigued by the frightening aspect, but by the disembodied voice. Others screamed and gasped, but Dave spent the entire ride trying to mimic (what he was later to learn was the Legendary voice of Paul Frees). Instead of a dream coming true, a dream was born. He did not aspire to be a prince or a pirate. Instead, he was riveted by the human voice and its limitless range of capabilities. Dave had discovered his passion for voiceover. “The Happiest Place on Earth” gave birth to a lifelong dream.
As a team player Dave’s highest priority is the client. If he feels his own down to earth conversational reads are not right for the project, he will gladly provide the next artist with the opportunity. At the same time, he is a bit of a risk taker, and is always keen to try new things. At the start of his career, a naturally clear and engaging voice landed him a few gigs that may have been outside of his wheelhouse. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Sangre de Christo mountains in Colorado, he played both a gun toting cowboy and the announcer at an old west theme park. After a stint on the radio, voice acting took over and the dream became a reality.

our inner intentions, vision, and dreams
through our voice." Ray Davi
